Well, since my beginning (last year) I have posted some wonderfully "incorrect" statements. One which comes to mind is believing defenders have points deducted for goals scored against. This was not last year but THIS year! Nik was kind enough to point this out after I tried my hand at player recommendation. I have yet another sad but true admission to expose. This one concerns the overall player standings we all have for our teams.
I must admit, I truly do not look at it much but it is hard to ignore. This week I did poorly with a grand total of 52.50 points. I took notice that my standings showed a (PLUS) of 1130 positions! I was stunned. There were plenty of teams that did very well this week as many players scored well. How could this be?
Then it happened....I learned something! My standings went from 1586 to 2716. A GAIN of 1130 positions. The problem is that its a gain in the wrong direction. I did not move up in the standings as I used to believe by seeing the green number with a plus sign but down in the overall standings by increasing the distance between me and the #1 spot.
I wondered how 52.50 points could give me such a "positive" outcome indicated by +1130
Now I know!
Hard to admit,, but I guess that a lot of my teachers were right!
