Matthew Berry from ESPN still doesn’t have a good haircut and he’s monetized fantasy more than just about anyone I know of.
I don't hold out much hope...

RVP drop
RVP dropped to 28 just before the deadline. Took a big risk, and switched VDV-Agbonlahor for Guedioura-RVP. Hope it wasn’t a mistake…
Replaced him with a better defense, so went with the cheap Wolves midfielder.

No BD'ing for NUFC
However, Drenthe and Coleman look to be good shouts considering their upcoming game against Wolves at home. They both look solid out there.
My "Team Matahara"
Playing:
DDG
Verm, Fabio, Savic
Silva, VDV, Ramsey, O’Hara
Kun, Suarez, Mata
Cabaye off injured
Here’s hoping he gets fit over the international break. Would love to see NUFC with Cabaye vs. MAC
Cabaye’s out already? Fortunately I didn’t keep him; didn’t keep R Taylor either…

Morning from CT
hi everyone. good to be back chatting after a nightmarish 5 days of blackouts in CT because of that freakish snow storm. Who would have guessed – a White Halloween.
Yes … one of the richest states in the US and it took five days to resume power. Felt like a third world country for awhile – no heat, no hot water, no power and worst – no wifi!

O/T Any advice on getting footie tickets in Span?
Planning a last minute trip to Spain around Thanksgving time. Can anyone recommend good ways to getting footie tickets – either while still in US or on the ground? Thinking Camp Nou and San Bernabeau.
It is expensive
But I’ve gotten in touch with my hotel concierge before arriving and they’ve been able to do the trick in England (Arsenal) and Argentina (San Lorenzo vs Boca Juniors)
When I went to Barcelona...
I was able to go see a Barca game. It was an incredible experience. It was very easy in Barcelona, we went on a tour saw the stadium and then got tickets while we were at the stadium. You may want to go through the team’s website, it could give you a good idea of how much tickets cost and where you could sit.
Enjoy, definitely a great way to see the culture! Make sure to have some Tapas, although you won’t have much of a choice…

Agreed
The biggest problem with NUFC is trying to figure out who is going to score for them from week to week. Ba has had some big matches but the other goals seem to come from very random places.
ESPN says there are no stars in Newcastle, but they get things done through teamwork, which is frustrating for fantasy players…

No money to be made playing in Holland
The country is just too small – not enough international TV money, etc.
Sure, but you sort of have to wonder if the likes of Xavi and Iniesta can be who they are in other countries.

My Team
My team this week:

Vermaelen / Vidic / Williams
Silva / VdV / Cabaye / Herd
Aguero / Suarez / Andrew Johnson
Looking good so far except the fact that Cabaye had to come off after 38 minutes.

Completely agree
He has the wrong players to play his preferred defensive system (Terry/Ivanovic/Alex to slow to play a high line) but Mata, Lampard, Malouda, Sturridge, Ramires, etc should be creating more chances and looking more dynamic

Why on earth
is Downing still valued at 14.66? He’s had no goals and no assists all season. Winger with no end product so far.
He has lots of crosses.

DDG
Will he always share the spoil with Lindagaaaard? I can’t effort Zero wk in/wk out. :( Thinking of switching to Cech @ 8…
I wouldn't go with Cech
He’s been good today but Rovers are terrible and CHE’s defense is not good – this would only be their 2nd CS of the season if it hold up
Choices are ..
- Robinson @ 4 and will reduce more…
- Vorm @ 8 but bad matchups coming up…
- Szczczy @ 6 …
but DDG scored good when he played….
Little Pea = Little POS
What a waste of £12!

DDG
Lindergaard only replaces DDG when there is an international break, happened before the last one. Reason being is that it wont be getting games for 2-3 weeks if he doesnt play. Just look at midweek games, DDG usually gets his rest. Dont fret people

bad week
was gonna pick rodwell to be the enabler and picked Marveaux instead, Fabio doesnt come on until last min, only bright spot was Verm’s goal and CS… spending almost 20M on Demba Ba doesnt help
Bent or Gabby but the away to spurs doesnt look nice

No but Gabby at 9.15 away to Spurs looks pretty solid
Gabby at his “to be” price much less so

8.5 points from cabaye, marveaux, demba ba
dropped SILVA
thinking of suicide, lol
Lampard
wondered why he doesnt get ppl talking yet?
I thought he had around 16 points; doesn’t really make up his price.

BD
unloaded fabio, cabaye, gervinho and suarez
bded: rio, pilkington, morison, dzeko
BD Team
Torres, Brown, B. Foster
by The Relegated on Nov 5, 2011 10:18 AM PDT via iPhone app reply actions
So Silva plays ....
… Thank heavens I kept him in … but who said Evra was off to a funeral ???
Team is
Szezza (CS)
Fabio (played 30 seconds, cheers Evra), Enrique (CS), Savic
Rodwell (15pts), Guthrie (0.5pts), Silva, VDV, Ramsey
Suarez, Aguero
Not too bad then but could be better.
Barn door of:
Szezza
Brown, Verm, Richards
VDV, Silva, Rodwell, Ramires, Herd (filler)
Suarez, Aguero
Only possible pick is HBA...
…to preserve the guaranteed 0.
by The Relegated on Nov 5, 2011 10:22 AM PDT via iPhone app up reply actions
Don’t know if I will keep szczesny in net or not, but I got Verm. I could drop Evans for Rio too. Someone help me out on that one though, as I am not really sure how they fit in the United defense.
Picked up Pilkington for Cabaye but am uncomfortable having szczesny and verm in the back with Pilkington on the fantasy squad too. Kicking around Wes Brown, but I would have to drop Savic. That will depend on how things go later I suppose.
Currently
szczesny
verm/evans/savic
silva/ramsey/ramires/pilkington
Gabby/Suarez/Kun
Needs some work, especially in middle I think. 7m left.
Savic will be back to the bench for vs. NUFC
Kompany was only suspended for one match

Dyer
Hadn’t noticed he’s put up some pretty good points the past 3 weeks, over 10+ each time. 2 SOTs each of the past 3, and no goals or assists during this time.
So another Moses? Except that Dyer HAD scored before…

We'll see, long way to go
But the early returns from City haven’t been good
by Neal Thurman on Nov 5, 2011 11:02 AM PDT up reply actions
Disappointments So far
- Brown goal should be Wellbeck, but instead wellbeck returns -0.5
- Adam is card magnet (I should know that) >( return 4.0
And of course, DDG not playing…. Fergiefied again!
wasn't a goalline clearance - Brown went up for a header off a corner, it was deflected by Welbeck and then off Brown and then in. W/O Brown it wouldn't have been a goal
by Neal Thurman on Nov 5, 2011 11:15 AM PDT up reply actions
Can be either way....
I see from the highlight angel is Wellbeck headed, deflected to Brown’s shoulder, and went in.
Anyway… it’s -1.0 for Brown and -0.5 for Wellbeck… disappointed… :(
I was in the kitchen

Traore
I know people aren’t high on him but – for those of you watching – any thoughts on how he’s looked today?
Definitely solid in the real world
In fantasy world, the issue is that he doesn’t get a ton of attacking points and QPR don’t look likely to get a ton of CSs – that makes him pretty questionable as a fantasy play.

He played only a few minutes. A DF has to be on the pitch for at least 75 minutes to get the CS points. (I wish YFF would put that fact on the Rules page).
I did so poorly today that

Tough result for QPR who fought hard. City get 3 points despite not playing terribly well on midfield. Just too much talent for City.
