I went with Fabio over Brown

I’m sure it will go wrong but Brown vs. ManYoo seemed like a bit of a waste

I’ve been having nothing but crash landings this season and I can already see the big day from O’Hara coming. I wanted to get to him but couldn’t do it which means he’s going to kill it this week.

by Neal Thurman on Nov 5, 2011 5:42 AM PDT up reply actions

had dembele VDV lamps kun all week

But decided to switch things up. Thankfully this time change thing only happens once a year. Let time to tinker when the deadline is 6 central

I don't hold out much hope...

…of this being an entertaining match. It will likely be well-played but hard to imagine it being fun.

Quiet morning here at the chat

Is NUFC/EVE that uninteresting a match?

by Neal Thurman on Nov 5, 2011 6:11 AM PDT reply actions

Rough attempt from Saha

Everton haven’t had sustained pressure but they’ve been dangerous when they’ve attacked

by Neal Thurman on Nov 5, 2011 6:12 AM PDT reply actions

i'm not watching

but from live text commentary, seems like everton is more in the attacking side than the host.

by Alay on Nov 5, 2011 6:12 AM PDT reply actions

Funny thing is that they aren’t – NUFC have had more of the ball by far but EVE’s chances have been more effective (other than NUFC’s goal)

O/T Any advice on getting footie tickets in Span?

Planning a last minute trip to Spain around Thanksgving time. Can anyone recommend good ways to getting footie tickets – either while still in US or on the ground? Thinking Camp Nou and San Bernabeau.

by _G-man_ on Nov 5, 2011 6:34 AM PDT reply actions

It is expensive

But I’ve gotten in touch with my hotel concierge before arriving and they’ve been able to do the trick in England (Arsenal) and Argentina (San Lorenzo vs Boca Juniors)

by Neal Thurman on Nov 5, 2011 6:36 AM PDT up reply actions

When I went to Barcelona...

I was able to go see a Barca game. It was an incredible experience. It was very easy in Barcelona, we went on a tour saw the stadium and then got tickets while we were at the stadium. You may want to go through the team’s website, it could give you a good idea of how much tickets cost and where you could sit.

Enjoy, definitely a great way to see the culture! Make sure to have some Tapas, although you won’t have much of a choice…

by Douchebag United on Nov 5, 2011 6:44 AM PDT up reply actions

Thanks DU. So, you are saying ticks were available on walk-up on day of the game?

From what I remember

Of course check the web, I had internet access while I was there so I was able to research!

by Douchebag United on Nov 5, 2011 9:09 AM PDT up reply actions

Thanks Neal. Hotel concierge did the trick for me in London (Chelsea) a few times. Unfortunately, will be staying in a lesser hotel in Barcelona, so no concierge. Looking for reputable broker or “stubs.com”-style site.

I didn’t expect three goals in the first half, when in the last 4 games between these sides there were only 8 goals.

by FlyingHamster on Nov 5, 2011 6:37 AM PDT reply actions

Agreed

The biggest problem with NUFC is trying to figure out who is going to score for them from week to week. Ba has had some big matches but the other goals seem to come from very random places.

I wouldn't go with Cech

He’s been good today but Rovers are terrible and CHE’s defense is not good – this would only be their 2nd CS of the season if it hold up

Choices are ..

- Robinson @ 4 and will reduce more…
- Vorm @ 8 but bad matchups coming up…
- Szczczy @ 6 …

but DDG scored good when he played….

DDG

Lindergaard only replaces DDG when there is an international break, happened before the last one. Reason being is that it wont be getting games for 2-3 weeks if he doesnt play. Just look at midweek games, DDG usually gets his rest. Dont fret people

So Silva plays ....

… Thank heavens I kept him in … but who said Evra was off to a funeral ???
Team is
Szezza (CS)
Fabio (played 30 seconds, cheers Evra), Enrique (CS), Savic
Rodwell (15pts), Guthrie (0.5pts), Silva, VDV, Ramsey
Suarez, Aguero

Not too bad then but could be better.

Barn door of:
Szezza
Brown, Verm, Richards
VDV, Silva, Rodwell, Ramires, Herd (filler)
Suarez, Aguero

by Mussel on Nov 5, 2011 10:18 AM PDT reply actions

Don’t know if I will keep szczesny in net or not, but I got Verm. I could drop Evans for Rio too. Someone help me out on that one though, as I am not really sure how they fit in the United defense.

Picked up Pilkington for Cabaye but am uncomfortable having szczesny and verm in the back with Pilkington on the fantasy squad too. Kicking around Wes Brown, but I would have to drop Savic. That will depend on how things go later I suppose.

Currently
szczesny
verm/evans/savic
silva/ramsey/ramires/pilkington
Gabby/Suarez/Kun

Needs some work, especially in middle I think. 7m left.

Traore

I know people aren’t high on him but – for those of you watching – any thoughts on how he’s looked today?

by garythain on Nov 5, 2011 11:29 AM PDT reply actions

Definitely solid in the real world

In fantasy world, the issue is that he doesn’t get a ton of attacking points and QPR don’t look likely to get a ton of CSs – that makes him pretty questionable as a fantasy play.

by Neal Thurman on Nov 5, 2011 11:31 AM PDT up reply actions

Thanks for the input.

Always on the lookout for cheap wing backs.

by garythain on Nov 5, 2011 11:35 AM PDT up reply actions

by Alay on Nov 5, 2011 11:40 AM PDT reply actions

He played only a few minutes. A DF has to be on the pitch for at least 75 minutes to get the CS points. (I wish YFF would put that fact on the Rules page).
