Its fans, players, and promoters are fond of calling the EPL the best league in the world. But the Mancunian squads failed to make it out of their Champions League groups, and Arsenal and Chelsea now seem very unlikely to progress beyond this stage after bad losses this week.

It will probably always be the league I most enjoy following, but does anyone really still believe the EPL is the best league in the world?
