Everton have secured the permanent return of Steven Pienaar to Goodison Park.

David Moyes declared earlier this summer that his priority was to bring the midfielder back to Everton on a long term basis and a deal has now been struck.

The South African star has put pen to paper on a four-year contract after Everton agreed a £4.5m fee with Tottenham.

Pienaar Signing Confirmed / News Archive / News / evertonfc.com - The Official Website of Everton Football Club A good bit of business for both teams. Spurs make a nice profit on the player, and Everton get to keep Pienaar who proved to be a vital cog for them last season. Pienaar brought some consistent attacking play that Everton only got in spurts from the likes of Landon Donovan. With the bulk of last year's team returning, and no ugly transfer sagas on the radar (save for possibly Leighton Baines), it will be interesting if Everton can avoid their usual early-season woes. If they can, there will be definite fantasy interest in Pienaar, Jelavic, and their defenders./div>
