YFF Spreadsheet is ready (plus a few words of encouragement)

It ain't much (yet). But it's here and will be throughout the season for those who like stats and lots of them.

I have to admit I was a little down today after having what I thought was a pretty good double game week (140 pts) and finding myself in 65th place in my blog league, 50 points behind the leader.

I went back to the spreadsheet I collected for my blog league last season, which includes the week-by-week positions of every team (No, I'm not insane, It's a lot easier than it sounds).

Turns out that after Week One, the top three teams finished the season 52nd, 1st and 70th, respectively. And the teams that ended the season 1-2-3 were 2nd, 55th and 38 respectively after Week One.

It took about 25 game weeks before the cream of the league started rising to the top, and even then several teams made strong moves, both up and down.

So it's really true what they say -- it's a marathon, not a sprint.
