Fantasy Mistakes to Avoid

[Editor's note: In the spirit of "The Rules", which we just reposted, here is another set of thoughts, guidelines, hints, or suggestions, for the fantasy manager to follow.]

I understand we are still a few weeks out and it's still very early to be picking our teams and settling on players. Even though sorting through all the transfers and new players can take up an enormous amount of time I am sure each manager is asking themselves...

What am I going to do different this season to make myself a better player and improve over past seasons?

I know there can be countless answers and each can have a different level of importance to each individual manager, that's why I submit using a scale of 1-10 where 1=lowest level of importance to 10=highest level of importance.

Here are a couple of mine as an example:

No last minute player changes......(5)

No intentional zeros........(7)

Balance approach to choosing my defenders and not just using the position as a filler position...(9)

Following Renegades advice on Torres......(1)

Not overreacting to players I don't have who are scoring well by dropping discounts to chase (9)

Guess you get the idea. I could list many more as I have a lot to learn and I made many mistakes last year.

How about anyone else....where is your focus this year to make yourself a better player?
