So, it was a mixed bag for my son on his first Premier League weekend. He got to see Arsenal run amok on Southampton which was good. He got to see the Eagles (NFL) squeak out a win against a strong Baltimore Ravens team (also good). On the downside, he had to hear his dad bitch about mediocre-at-best fantasy picks and a slate of really unimpressive matches on live TV between Saturday and Sunday. Between Norwich vs. West Ham, QPR vs. Chelsea, Sunderland vs. Liverpool, and Reading vs. Spurs there wasn't a single watchable match in the group. I suppose I could have turned the Chelsea match to the Manchester United match but I wouldn't want to do that to an impressionable mind, he might end up supporting them or something horrible like that.
So, we have one shot left at a seeing something worthwhile from the Premier League on TV this week so here's hoping that Everton and Newcastle put on an entertaining show. I have Marouane Fellaini, Leighton Baines, and Papiss Cisse on my PL.com team from this match so I'm hoping for a high scoring affair with Baines in the middle of the attacking action for the Toffees.
