With the World Cup coming up, and the great work that Das, Kellz and Stall are doing in helping us get ready, I almost feel that this post is irrelevant. Still, I do not want to leave the season unfinished, so I am going to do it anyway.
The numbers for the last week of the season are delayed because I left the Monday following the final GW for a three week holiday in Romania and Greece. I had a great time, but now it's time to let you know the final GW best team.
Best Team
The last game week is always a bit odd, and this season was no exception. The top scorer was Dwight Gayle! That alone should tell you things were a bit off. Still, there were some familiar names, and for a mere £113.48 you could have had the maximum score of 246 for the week. The top YFF player got 164 points, or 66.67% of that total.

For the first time since I started doing these numbers formally, the top players actually formed a legal starting XI, with a 3-4-3 formation. There were two choices at the third forward (Lambert and Bony), but no one else scored as well as those in the Bext XI. So, the bench this week includes all players that were one point of the best XI by scoring 16 points.
Keats and Yeats Multiple Appearance List
The K&Y list for this week represents the final rankings since I have been tracking it in GW10. These are those players who appeared in the Best XI at least three times during that stretch. Joining the list on the last try with three appearances were Paulinho and Schürrle. Moving up the rankings with their fourth appearances were Kompany and Bony. Finally, new Liverpool boy Ricky Lambert joined the small group at five appearances each.

Not surprisingly, Suárez led everyone with 9 appearances in the Best XI for the season, with Stevie G and Yaya next at 6 appearances each. To put that into perspective, the absolute best player this season was in the Best XI only 31.0% of the time, while the next two only appeared 20.7% of the time. No wonder this game can be so infuriating!
I hope you have enjoyed my numbers this year, that they have entertained even if they have not always been helpful in choosing your squad. I may put up some other analysis toward the end of the summer, but for now, it's on to the World Cup!
