Keats and Yeats Bargain Basement (The Greek Earn edition)

With three weeks to go there is still plenty of time for new players to tickle your fancy but with a reduced budget and increased prices the need for bargain players is even more important than last season.

With last seasons top performers all heavily priced and uncertainty over how the price rises will be implemented this year trying to fit in Sturridge, Rooney, Hazard, Aguero, YaYa, Ramsay and RVP at prices from 16 - 12 leaves us very little to play with. The worry is if one of these players has a good first game, and lets face it at least one of them well, and their price shoots up will that automatically price them out of the range of the players who did not already have them?

So what is to be done? Well Obi Wan "Ken" Obi has come up with the novel idea of not having a GK (you can read his full reasoning on the Fantasy Live Fan post) and whilst that might be taking the issue a little further than most of us will be it certainly seems that there wont be many investing in subs this year.

So with even Arsene Wenger spending is there any real value left in the transfer market?

The answer is.....it depends if they play !

Take the fella in the picture. Coming to Spurs for nearly £30 mil he did not get off to a good start and played very little last year BUT with his countryman coming in as manager and the Tottenham website suddenly putting him front and centre in their social media campaign his price of 2.77 could well make him an early contender for season keeper. He seems to be getting a fair shout in the friendlies and if there is even a sniff of regular playing time he could be an absolute steal.

and what about young Cresswell at Westham ? the talk is he will step up this year and get minutes on the pitch but at a price of 1 he needs to be on your bench anyway and could be this years Ovideo, though hopefully without the injury.

The other option is to look at players who will imminently be moving club and vastly increasing their minutes and their value. A prime example here is Verm, at Arsenal he will not get ahead of BFG and Koscienly and so is priced at 4:58 but he will walk into the starting 11 at Man United and be one hell of an investment there, depending on who the other imports are.

Then there is the fascinating prospect of loanies, that is those young players who stand no chance of playing for their own teams but will get regular minutes for another team first in this regard must be England Under 19 captain and much favoured Liverpool RB/CB Andre Wisdom. At 5:81 and with limited opportunities at Liverpool he would not be in anyone's team but at 5:81 and a regular minutes for the Baggies he actually starts to look like a good pick.

Well that is just a couple of bargain basement investments and with Stall and Das articles turning me onto De Laet (@3) and Drinkwater @ 3.5 whilst there are not many bargains there are (nearly) enough to get a decent team together.

So what Players have you found? who are the real Bargains? and who is your prediction for bargain season keeper?
