Is being Cup-Tied Fair or Unfair? Good or Bad?

UEFA have Introduced a rule that prevents a player from playing for 2 different teams in a Cup competition within the same period. Or, in other words, if a player has played for a team even a minute, he is so called Cup-tied to that particular team for the remaining of the competition even if he has transferred to another team that is competing in the same Cup competition.

A suggestion of mine and many other football (soccer) lovers would really make a difference for all parties by changing or slightly modifying that rule.

SUGGESTION

There needs to be a minimum number of minutes played before a player is considered cup-tied.

A fair number of minutes in my opinion and in my fellow friends and football lovers would be 120. Let me elaborate on that for a second and make that clear for all by separating the involved parties.

PLAYER

The player involved would have the opportunity to keep him/herself in shape, gain experience in cup competitions, will have the opportunity to prove himself in both teams and more than anything will be happy doing what they love to do.

PARENT TEAM

The team would get the best out of their player. Potentially will get more money for the player, will keep them in shape and many others. And if that is not enough then the team doesn't really need the player and it shouldn't be a problem to part with him/her. No one benefits from a bench warmer.

TEAMS INTERESTED

The teams would have the opportunity to gain a valuable player at the right time, help the player improve their career and maybe win a trophy or a few new fans.

My point is everyone will benefit from that modification of that rule maybe except the team that is willing to kill a player's career just so another team can not improve their team. But who wants to be in a dream killer team?

Let me know what you guys think. Maybe together we can make a difference in our heroes' lives and our favorite sport.

Thanks
