It's week 3, and it's already time for an international break. Kind of sucks. You're just getting into the new season, and then bam--two weeks without a match! Luckily, there's a great slate of matches this weekend to hold us over. Eight of them will take place on Saturday, making it a busy day.
With the transfer window closing in a few days, it's time for teams to make their final changes. Luckily for fantasy managers, those changes can go on all season. However, it's important to make the right decisions now, both to get a solid lead, but also to lock in some great bargains.
If you're like me and rostered Zlatan in Fantrax from the outset, you're quite happy that you have him for $12 versus the $21 that he goes for now. Conversely, Mesut Ozil missing the first week means his salary has dropped a fair amount, and now might be the time to lock in his rate before it jumps back up again. Here is my Fantrax team for this week:
David De Gea, Arthur Masuaku, Daryl Janmaat, Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba, Dusan Tadic, Andros Townsend, Georginio Wijnaldum, Mesut Ozil, Zlatan, Nolito
On the official FPL game, it's trickier to make major changes this early, unless you want to burn a wild card, which I wouldn't recommend. Therefore, it's small changes that can make a huge difference. If you are like me and didn't have Aguero in your FPL team, then....why not? I'm kind of kicking myself on that one right now. Luckily, I made changes necessary to get him into my lineup, and he is my captain this week. Are you bold enough to captain someone else, and if so, who is it? Here is my FPL official team this week:
Kasper Schmeichel, Gael Clichy, Arthur Masuaku, Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial, Nathan Redmond (V), Dimitri Payet, Marc Albrighton, Andros Townsend, Shane Long, Sergio Aguero (C)
It's a big week for me in the IEFSA, as I've started out 0-2 and need a win to get some confidence. I lost DeAndre Yedlin this week, so I had to sign a free agent to replace him. Injuries to Feghouli, Junior Stanislas, and Romeu have hurt me so far, but it will be good to have Olivier Giroud on my lineup for the first time--especially since he was my most expensive signing. Here is my IEFSA team for this week (pending any last minute roster changes due to lineups):
David De Gea, Arthur Masuaku, Ryan Shawcross, Kyle Walker, Etienne Capoue, Marouane Fellaini, Craig Gardner, Benik Afobe, Olivier Giroud
