AM's Week 10 Player Picks (Birthday Budget Edition)

Van could be Der man against QPR this weekend
Van could be Der man against QPR this weekend

I'm away from midday today until Saturday as I'm taking a few days off for my birthday (29 tomorrow!) to spend time with Sarah, family & friends, so I didn't actually think I'd have time to write anything this week. However, I ended up with an hour spare this morning to run through the fixtures and players to produce a very quick post listing my recommendations for Week 10.

Apologies for the lack of analysis - Jeremy & Neal will be posting their views in much more detail within the next 48 hours and there will be an Injuries & Suspensions update post on Friday.

My predictions for the fixtures ...

Stand-Out Comfortable Wins
MAN CITY v Wolves
TOTTENHAM v Queens Park Rangers

Should Win
CHELSEA v Arsenal
LIVERPOOL @ West Brom
SWANSEA v Bolton
NORWICH v Blackburn

Close/Draws/Low Scoring
Everton v Manchester United
Stoke City v Newcastle
Sunderland v Aston Villa
Wigan Athletic v Fulham

And the players I feel could do very well this week ...

KEEPERS
De Gea
Friedel
Vorm

DEFENDERS
Richards
Walker
Kompany
Williams
Rangel
Riise
Bassong
Tierney
Brown
Boyata

MIDFIELDERS
Van Der Vaart
Silva
Gerrard
Nasri
Modric
Pilkington
Cabaye
Moses
D.Murphy
Dyer
Hoolahan
Drenthe

STRIKERS
Aguero
Adebayor
Suarez
Balotelli/Dzeko
Torres
Van Persie
Hernandez
Graham
Holt

Please be aware that there are still Carling Cup matches to take place tonight so any players rested / injured / sent off could impact the lists above.

My current team is ...

De Gea, Boyata, Brown, Bassong, Moses, Gerrard, Silva, Van Der Vaart, Suarez, Adebayor, Aguero

... and I think that could be very close to my final team.

Have a good week, I'll be back on Saturday morning with the Week 10 Pre-Deadline Countdown Live chat.

Cheers, Nik
