West Brom have confirmed the signing of Birmingham defender Liam Ridgewell for an undisclosed fee. Ridgewell has put pen to paper on an initial two-and-a-half year contract plus the option of a further 12 months in the club's favour. He successfully passed a medical at the Baggies training ground on Tuesday afternoon after agreeing personal terms. Ridgewell signed too late to be eligible for Wednesday evening's game at Fulham but will come into contention to make his debut in Saturday's home encounter with Swansea.
