Premier League International Week Injuries

It's an international [mid-]week, so naturally there are lots of "injuries" around the Premier League. However, many of these seem more or less serious and may impact next weekend's league fixtures. Here's an early roundup of the doubts, withdrawls, and sure-to-be late fitness tested come the weekend.

Defender eyes QPR return
Hughes revealed the [Taye Taiwo] was suffering cramp, and will join in sessions with his team-mates at the club's Harlington training base today.

Aston Villa striker Darren Bent will see a joint specialist on Monday to determine the extent of his ankle injury, it is understood. Bent suffered the injury during Saturday's goalless draw at. Wigan and has already withdrawn from the England squad to face Holland in Wednesday's friendly at Wembley.

Rafael van der Vaart has withdrawn from the Netherlands squad to take on England on Wednesday. The Dutchman picked up an ankle injury in Sunday’s 5-2 defeat at Arsenal and will now miss the Wembley friendly.

Arsenal midfielder will miss the match because of an ankle injury

Blues hit by Drogba concern
Drogba limped out of the Blues' 3-0 victory over Bolton on Saturday with an injury to his right knee and will be monitored in the build-up to this weekend's trip to the Hawthorns after withdrawing from his country's friendly against Guinea on Wednesday.

Kyle Walker to miss Holland clash
Tottenham's Kyle Walker [ankle injury - it's all the rage this week] has become the fourth member of Stuart Pearce's squad to withdraw from England's friendly with Holland on Wednesday.

Manchester United starlet Cleverley relieved after fresh injury problems
Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley has revealed that his latest ankle problem is not connected to the injury that has kept him out for much of this season. "And again, it isn’t a recurrence of the injury, it’s the other leg."
