It's a budget edition of my player picks this week, with a very quick look at the fixtures, lists of the players interesting me, my saved barndoor team and how my team page looks at the moment.
A slimmed down version of this post is never ideal but I'm hoping it will still prove useful as a reference and of course you have Neal's Week Ahead post already looking at the week in detail. I hope to add some analysis to my picks if I get some spare time tomorrow morning.
In terms of the fixtures, I agree with Neal's opinion 100% on the stand-outs ...
MANCHESTER UNITED v Fulham
NORWICH v Wolves
LIVERPOOL v Wigan
ARSENAL v Aston Villa
SUNDERLAND v QPR
These are all very winnable home games for strong sides and I'll also throw in SWANSEA v Everton, with Brendan Rodgers' men in fantastic form and Everton not great on the road.
Elsewhere I can see Stoke getting a draw against Manchester City, I'm praying Spurs can get a draw at Chelsea, Bolton v Blackburn is very difficult to call either way and West Brom v Newcastle looks like a 1-1.
So here are the players, sticking to my new format of 3 Keepers, 8 Defenders, 10 Midfielders and 8 Strikers ...
KEEPERS
Reina
Ruddy
Szcezney
DEFENDERS
Vermaelen
Evans
Gibbs
Carragher
Ream
Bridge
Naughton
Bassong
MIDFIELDERS
Valencia
Gerrard
A.Young
Sigurdsson
Sessegnon
Nasri
Hoilett
Pilkington
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Miyaichi
STRIKERS
Suarez
van Persie
Rooney
Hernandez
Aguero
Sinclair
Holt
Klasnic
As I said earlier, I'll try to add some analysis if I get a chance tomorrow morning.
My saved barndoor team:
Friedel, Bridge, Onuoha, Gibbs, Hoilett, Sigurdsson, Van Der Vaart, Valencia, Gerrard, D.Cisse, Rooney
Currently unsaved on my team page:
Ruddy, Bridge, Onuoha, Gibbs, Hoilett, Sigurdsson, Valencia, Gerrard, D.Cisse, Hernandez, Suarez
Both teams are definitely lacking an Arsenal attacker, but I can't currently see a way of fitting one in. I'm on a great run at the moment - up to 125th overall - and I'm hoping that will continue!
I'll leave it there for now - how's your team shaping up.?
Cheers, Nik
