Sigurdsson vs NY Red Bulls

Tottenham Hotspur's new signing Gylfi Sigurdsson continued his fine pre-season form with another cracking goal and an assist in a 2-1 victory over New York Red Bulls in New York last night.

The performance moves the Icelandic international up to 2 goals and 3 assists in his first 4 games and suggests he's going to pick up where he left off with Swansea last season. Gareth Bale (wearing number 9 and playing as a striker) scored the other Spurs goal from a Sigurdsson corner after New York Red Bulls had taken the lead from the penalty spot. Jan Vertonghen brought down Tim Cahill in the box and Kenny Cooper stepped up to convert.

One thing Tottenham have really struggled with in the past two seasons has been set pieces, having the lowest corner conversion rate across the league despite the squad containing a number of fine headers of the ball in Bale, Michael Dawson, Younes Kaboul, Peter Crouch and Emmanuel Adebayor. It's been noticeable that Siggy's delivery and crossing in general has been outstanding and this should prove a huge advantage over previous campaigns.

I'd suggest you look to add Sigurdsson to your squad for both the Yahoo Fantasy Football and Official Fantasy Premier League games.
