In long-running but inevitable transfer saga news, Emmanuel Adebayor has completed a return to Tottenham Hotspur.

We are delighted to announce that we have completed the transfer of Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City.

The Togo striker impressed during his loan at White Hart Lane last season, finishing as our top goalscorer with 18 goals in 37 appearances, maintaining his fine scoring record in England which now stands at 99 goals from 224 games.

Adebayor (or K2, as we like to call him) struck up a great partnership with Rafael Van Der Vaart last season, and will look to do the same with Gylfi Sigurdsson this time around. There's no reason why it wouldn't work with the Icelandic international. K2 will look to pull defenders out of position, and Gylfi, Gareth Bale, and Aaron Lennon, should prosper in the spaces.

I would expect Spurs to sign another forward - K2 and Jermaine Defoe is not a deep bench - but at least Spurs have someone to build around in the attack. TEST
