Week 22 is now a double week

We can confirm that we DO have another "double week for 2 teams" on our hands - Chelsea & Southampton.

I missed this news yesterday, but it is something that could will lead to big fantasy implications for Week 22.

ChelseaFC.com - NEW DATE ANNOUNCED FOR SOUTHAMPTON LEAGUE GAME

Our Barclays Premier League home game against Southampton has been rescheduled, and will now take place on Wednesday 16 January, kick-off 7.45pm.

The match, which was originally due to be played in December, was postponed due to our involvement in the FIFA Club World Cup.

The rearranged match is subject to possible FA Cup third round replay participation.

Southampton meet Chelsea today in the FA Cup and a win for either side will mean both teams play twice in Week 22.

CHELSEA - Stoke City (away), Southampton (home)
SOUTHAMPTON - Aston Villa (away), Chelsea (away)

If the FA Cup tie ends in a draw then a replay would be required and that will mean the rescheduled date for the Premier League clash would need to be moved again - likely to be Week 24.

We'll know more at 5pm today.

UPDATE: Chelsea beat Southampton 5-1 today so we can confirm it is a double week for both sides in Week 22.

It is also worth noting that Week 23 is set to be a double week for Arsenal and West Ham.

So - who do we need to consider? Who will play both matches? Gaston Ramirez, Jason Puncheon and Ricky Lambert seem like decent options for the Saints, but it's a bit more difficult on the Chelsea side of things with Rafa Benitez "the king of rotation". Do we risk Branislav Ivanovic? David Luiz? Juan Mata? Eden Hazard? Demba Ba?
