It's being reported today that Wayne Rooney is out of - or at best a doubt for - Manchester United's match at Queens Park Rangers this weekend.
From the Daily Mail
Wayne Rooney will miss Manchester United's weekend clash with QPR but is expected to be fit for the crunch Champions League clash with Real Madrid.
Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that there was an outside chance Phil Jones would be fit for the European showdown at Old Trafford on March 5, but the club's in house TV channel added that Rooney was facing a battle of his own.
The striker has missed much of the week's training due to illness and won't travel to London for the meeting with the Premier League's bottom club.
From The Guardian:
Wayne Rooney is a major doubt for Manchester United's trip to QPR on Saturday, with the striker's match fitness for the Champions League last-16 second leg with Real Madrid now a concern for Sir Alex Ferguson.
Rooney missed Monday night's 2-1 FA Cup fifth round win over Reading at Old Trafford due to a sinus problem and if he does miss the match at QPR then his next potential game would be Norwich City's visit on 2 March.
This seems like a match where SAF will rotate players, and I wonder if we'll see the likes of Nani and Chicharito take center stage at Loftus Road. QPR have been a tough nut to crack at home, but there may be fantasy value regardless in United's fringes.
