Defoe injury blow for Spurs - TEAMtalk | Latest Football News, Results and Fixtures

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is likely to be on the sidelines for around three weeks after aggravating a muscle injury.

The 30-year-old is definitely out of Thursday's Europa League quarter final against Basel at White Hart Lane.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas admits he has doubts over the availability of the England international for the second-leg in Switzerland.

And Villa-Boas believes the Premier League visit of Manchester City on 21 April is a realistic target for Defeo's return.

Spurs don't have the easiest of run-ins, but if you're going for a Spurs forward... well, you have to get Gareth Bale.
