Night two of our midweek round brings out the big guns.
Sunderland face Manchester City having won the last four home games against the champions 1-0. Quite an incredible run considering the attacking talent City have used in those 4 games. Sunderland are unbeaten in 5 home games against them and home and away have won 3 drawn 2 and lost 1 home and away.
Tonight just might be the biggest challenge of them all as they face one of the world top forwards Sergio Aguero. Kun is the leagues top scorer and playing perhaps the finest football of his career. Sunderland are without a win in 6 games drawing the last 3. City meanwhile have lost just once in 10 and have only lost 1 away in the league going down at West Ham.
For those of you holding Yaya Toure he has never scored in 3 consecutive games in the Premier League but the man is now bang in form.
Everton should bounce back against a struggling Hull City who have lost 4 on the spin. I'm expecting Romelu Lukaku to cause their back line big problems.
Chelsea v Tottenham is normally a straightforward home win most seasons and the gap between them seems bigger than ever. Spurs have won back to back games but looked a disjointed team in in parts against Everton. Playing square pegs in round holes with Christian Eriksen being asked to play a role on the left hand side of midfield while the right hand side lacks cohesion as well. Harry Kane has been a bright spark and Spurs will look to him to find the danger on the break. It is possible that Chelsea will find the tie more awkward without star forward Diego Costa but their squad looks so full of quality I don't think that will come close to deciding the result.
Finally Arsenal host early season surprise side Southampton. The Saints had a lesson on Sunday against a fully firing Man City and may be starting to drop to their natural level. The Gunners have won two in a row with back to back clean sheets so may have their confidence back. Gunners home fans however are starting to turn a little on Arsene Wenger so If the Saints can stay well drilled early an upset result is possible.
I have Courtois, Miralles, Tadic Hazard and Sanchez in action tonight and will need a good night to keep up my run of ton plus scores.
