Week 7 Preview: 7 Questions

One more set of games prior to the International break. 5 days until deadline and 7 more questions for your thoughts.

I have a question on Liverpool and Englands bright young thing.
I have a question on Liverpool and Englands bright young thing.
Alex Livesey

After and old school week 6 with all the big boys playing on a Saturday we head into week 7, the last before the second international break.

Question 1 - Two wonderful goals, which do you like the best?

While Southampton found a stubborn opponent in Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon they still got the job done in a 2-1 win.  Ryan Bertrand put the Saints 1 up with a lovely team goal but the game was sparked by two fantastic strikes from Charlie Austin and Graziano Pelle.  First up Austin leveled the game then Jjust a few minutes later Pelle won the game.  Which of these two wonder goals do you like

Analysing the two.  Pelle took a sublime first touch, held of his marker before spinning and firing the match winner.  Austin with his back to the goal took an incredible first touch span around and fired in with his weaker foot.  I have, like most a soft spot for the Saints but I'm saying Austin's was technically the more difficult skill.  Do you agree?

Question 2 -   Did you know this trick?

Late Saturday morning I found myself with a problem.  Logging into my team I was unable to sell any player and at this point I had no Costa.  Who saved the day?  The conscious of our blog thats who, Ken to the rescue.

Now before I explain the how to overcome this issue should it happen to you AND explain how you can play the game as you have always done, Ken will want it said that it was not his solution, just one from a different blogger posted to which he directed me.  First, whoever told Ken, sir deserve a pat on the back and from me to Ken, cheers mate.  You avoided a bad season going even worse.

Here is Kens solution in his own words

The going to "players" and using the + - at the end WORKS!

Say you have Aguero and want to drop...go to PLAYERS..Go to Manchester City..find Aguero...go to end of stats...find + - and hit and he will go away! Who ever figured this out..thanks!!!

So onto the best part,  By using this solution you can remove any or all of the the players in any one go.  You can then add and remove players, with the budgeting adjusting as you go until you end with a team you like and then, boom, save it.   Now many of you may have been doing this for weeks with just the slow IT guys like Ken and myself having no idea.  However for those of you who didn't know, you can now play with your team like the old days.

Question 3 - How long will Diego Costa's hamstrings hold up?

Jose Mourinho keeps telling us he cannot train and he cannot stop Spain calling him up (weird idea he shoudl think he could do so).  Whatever, if we assume that Jose is not fibbing, because he could be fibbing, it seems certain the golden boy of the early season is going to get benched somewhere soon.

We will get to know if he plays Champions League midweek and you can't see him rested against Arsenal.

If he plays for Spain and misses the next league game after the break then it will be Crystal Palace away that he gets a rest.  After last year that looks way too tough to miss.

Maybe then, when Chelsea are sitting 2 goals up on Sunday, he will start rubbing his hammy and pull out out of the international qualifiers.  I'm such a cynic aren't I, but I may not be far off.

Question 4 - Are you stuck with discounts?

Costa , Cesc and Courtois at 5m,  Siggy at 7m, Kelly, Creswell or Moore at 1m.  Maybe Tadic or  new favourite Mane at 5/6m.  Perhaps Forster at 3m or for more expensive tastes the might Sterling at 10mish.

We are starting to see the beginnings of those traps aren't we.  Not quite at the point of causing a common issue but on Saturday morning you could see the beginning of the effect within some teams.  At this stage the volume of similar players in our team will make catching up a slow process but soon enough many will stuck, unable to sell the players without losing their discounts.

Question 5 - Can Liverpool afford to rest Raheem Sterling against West Bromwich Albion?

They tried resting Sterling after back to back England games against Aston Villa and boy did they miss him.  He has though played the full game against West Ham, 120 minutes against Middleboro in midweek then full game again against Everton.  He seems certain to play CL midweek so does he play again against WBA with Liverpool badly needing a win to get them back on track?

Question 6 - With Harry Redknapp and Mauricio Pochettino facing off against their old clubs this week who wins, who loses?

Players and managers have a habit of coming back to haunt their old clubs don't they.  "Arry" will start underdog at West Ham after three away defeats in a row and only 1 goal scored.  The goal scorer Charlie Austin may be out to make it harder.  There was much more fight in the performance at Southampton giving them hope the result will come.

For Pochettino he faces his old club but only a few of his old players as Tottenham host the saints.  Southampton are bang in form and will have a full weeks rest.  Spurs have gone 4 games without a win but will have taken positives pinching a point at Arsenal last weekend.  The form says saints get at least a point but football karma says the old young fox masterminds his previous club.

So will either, both or none get the win and headlines over their previous employer?

Question 7 - Have Arsenal ever been bigger underdogs away at Chelsea under Wenger?

Chelsea have looked awesome while Arsenal have stubbornly refused to lose so far this season.  Chelsea, at least as I write, have pretty much a full strength side while Arsenal have Mathieu Debuchy, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud all out.  Add to that Mikel Arteta is a doubt and there is still a CL game to get past yet without further injury.

For me this will require one incredible performance to avoid defeat at the Bridge and Jose has only ever lost one game at home as Chelsea manager.  The league could do with Arsenal win but can you convince me it will/can happen?
