Fantasy Premier League player of the week: Everton striker Arouna Kone

The Everton forward is the Fantasy Player of the Week after a hat trick and assist on Sunday against Sunderland. Check out all the highlights of the show he put on at Goodison Park!

Usually when we talk about an Everton player "trolling" fantasy owners, it's Romelu Lukaku.

Arouna Kone on Sunday showed the Belgian striker just how trolling Fantasy Premier League managers is to be done.

Kone, whose ownership is minuscule at best, gave a demonstration of his abilities against Sunderland, as he scored a wonderful hat trick and assisted on a fourth in Everton's 6-2 romp. After having scored only two goals in the first ten matches of the season, the Ivory Coast striker took advantage of some wonderful team play, and some suspect defending, to have a performance that many Everton fans have been waiting for from him.

After recording a goal and two assists in the first two matches, over 200,000 managers--myself included--picked Kone up on the official BPL game. However, that ownership number has dwindled heavily as he struggled, with less than five percent owning him heading into the weekend.

However, anybody who chose him for Fantrax for Perfect XI is either lying, or....you know what? They're just lying. Call them on it.

That said, those fortunate enough to have him in their starting lineup were rewarded with some gaudy point totals:

Perfect XI: 50 points
Fantrax: 37 points
Official FPL: 20 points

Quite a few people took the gamble on the always-trolling Lukaku, who also rewarded owners with a solid return as he added a goal and two assists of his own. The question now is, with the Everton offense exploding this weekend, how many people will take the chance and add one, or both, to their fantasy rosters?  Will you be doing so?
