Alan Pardew will be ecstatic. Getting one over on your ex-employers, especially when they've terminated your stay, is always deeply satisfying. A 5-1 drubbing of Newcastle by Pardew's charges at Crystal Palace will go a long way to reinforcing the Palace board's decision to bring him in, and rub a bit more salt in the wound for Mike Ashley and company.

At the heart of the victory was a stellar performance by attacking midfielder Yannick Bolasie. While the Magpies got out to an early lead, the Eagles quickly responded to level the scoreline before Bolasie broke the deadlock and put Palace up 2-1. They never looked back from there, scoring another three goals, including another for Bolasie. The 26 year-old was also largely responsible for the fifth goal, charging through the Newcastle defense and forcing a rebound that James McArthur slotted home.

For all his quality, the Congolese winger rarely contributes multiple goals and/or assists in a match. Is this performance what he needs to further his already impressive attacking game, or was a subpar opponent largely responsible for the outlier performance? In any case, Bolasie has put fantasy managers everywhere on alert after his fantastic display.
