Week 16 Premier League Schedule
Saturday Slate
Norwich City v. Everton
Manchester City v. Swansea City
AFC Bournemouth v. Manchester United
Sunday/Monday Slate
Liverpool v. West Bromwich Albion
Plenty of great matches to choose from! Here's who we're riding to the green this weekend:
Goalkeepers
Hugo Lloris (Tottenham, $4,300) - The Spurs are in scintillating form and Pochettino's men have been firing on all cylinders, particularly controversial signing Erik Lamela following his mid-week hattrick in Europa League action. Lloris is the best player and the unquestioned leader of Tottenham plain and simple. Newcastle are awful, especially on the road, and after they upset Liverpool last weekend, Tottenham will not be taken by surprise.
Simon Mignolet (Liverpool, $4,200) - After a disappointing result last weekend, look for Klopp and the Kop to be in full effect for this fixture with West Brom. Liverpool's back four typically struggle with large-men, however Jurgen has instilled a sense of urgency that Merseyside has been sorely lacking for the past 5-10 years. 2-0 Liverpool.
Jack Butland (Stoke, $3,000) - Butland has been in superb form of late and is an extra special GPP play this week at 3k. Worth a look if you need to create some cash and avoid the public vibes.
Other options to consider: David De Gea (Manchester United, $4,400), Wayne Hennessey (Crystal Palace, $3,900)
Defenders
Nacho Monreal (Arsenal, $4,300) - One of the most consistent player's for Wenger's squad all year, look for Monreal and the Gunners to continue their momentum from midweek's Champions League victory in Greece and sweep aside Aston Villa.
Christian Fuchs (Leicester City, $4,000) - Leicester face one of their biggest tests of the season this Monday as they host struggling Chelsea who appear to be finally showing some signs of solidarity after advancing through the Champions League midweek. Fuchs will be in instructed to throw in ample crosses to Vardy as Leicester look to keep proving their doubters wrong.
Glen Johnson (Stoke, $3,600) - Butland has been in absurd form as Stoke have been playing very organized and disciplined defense the past few weeks. Glen is a sneaky GPP play to pair with Butland.
Other options to consider: Nathaniel Clyne (Liverpool, $4,000), Erik Pieters (Stoke, $3,900), Pape Souare (Crystal Palace, $3,200)
Midfielders
Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City, $7,800) - In case you haven't caught on by now, this lad is a must-own until he gets injured or City decides that it's simply unfair to put him in the squad against any opposition. KDB is a staple for success in real life and in DFS.
Ross Barkley (Everton, $6,900) - Norwich have the worst defense I've arguably ever seen in the EPL. That being said, Barkley is on a fine run and seems to have found the offensive spark that eluded him for so long these past 6 months. Look for plenty of defensive work as well as a high offensive ceiling from Ross this weekend.
Yaya Toure (Manchester City, $5,700) - After playing the full 90 minutes this week in Champions League action, Yaya looks to be fully healthy again and simply a must-start in DFS this weekend. The Swans have been abysmal and this weekend won't be the start of their comeback story. Yaya is one of the best holding Midfield players in the world and his stats will back that up this weekend.
Other options to consider: Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City, $8,500), Willian (Chelsea, $6,500), Xherdan Shaqiri (Stoke, $4,600), Son Heung-Min (Tottenham, $4,500)
Forwards
Jamie Vardy (Leicester City, $8,100) - Vardy refuses to stop scoring. His price tag is a good indicator of that, however I think Vardy or Mahrez if not both are must-owns this week making Vardy the preference based on price.
Romelu Lukaku (Everton $7,800) - Lukaku has been in sensational form. In Everton's last 6 games he has accounted for 6 goals and 2 assists. That simply will not slow down this weekend at Norwich.
Olivier Giroud (Arsenal, $7,000) - With Alexis and Cazorla out, Giroud and Ozil should find the back of the net at least once. Giroud is the best option for a goal following his midweek hattrick agasint Olypiakos.
Other options to consider: Raheem Sterling (Manchester City, $6,600), Harry Kane (Tottenham, $7,600), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool, $4,700)
Utility
Gerard Deulofeu (Everton, $4,900) - It's very hard not to find a spot for this young man every week. We've been following Gerard since his days on the Spanish under-20 side as well as with Barcelona's youth squad and he's simply a sensational talent. He will wreak havoc this weekend over Norwich.
Erik Lamela (Tottenham, $4,400) - Lamela has been silencing his critics with a string of very solid performances these past couple of weeks. He struck a midweek hattrick in Europa League action and will certainly be holding down the fort in my lineups this weekend.
Sample Lineup
GK: Butland
DF: Johnson, Otamendi, Souare
MF: De Bruyne, Zaha, Toure
FW: Lukaku, Deulofeu
