When playing Fantasy football the need of a good filler or two can be the difference of getting your preferred main players or not. Lets take a look at who can fill this role for week 16.
Ryan Shawcross - 4988m in Fantrax, 4.8m in FPL
Shawcross has yet to have the season that could force him into England reckoning but there is plenty time left.
Facing Andy Carroll is a challenge he seems more suited to than the fleet of foot type forward.
Leighton Baines -3312m in Fantrax,
Like Sturridge the price reflects the time spent out injured and Baines is also a player who may not start in week 15.
Away to Norwich seems a nice place to start the fantasy favourite.
Patrick Van Aanholt - 4.6m in FPL
No Bargain in Fantrax but a great price in FPL. Hosting a Watford side in form but the Sunderland defending is already much better under Big Sam.
Paddy Mcnair 1m in Fantrax, 4.7m in FPL or Cameron Bothwick-Jackson - 1m in Fantrax, 4m in FPL
Depending on your view on Daley Blind, the Red Devils look likely to be without their complete first choice back four for the tricky trip to Bournemouth.
Blind hopefully will be ok to lead a defence containing the two youngsters above. The clean sheet looks a big ask then but at 1m a piece they are perfect fillers if needed.
Junior Stanislas - 3859m in Fantrax, 4.2m in FPL or Joshua King - 4549m in Fantrax, 4.6m in FPL.
With the news about United defence, the two Bournemouth form attackers are beautifully priced.
A Cherries side who scored 3 against Everton and 6 goals in their last 3 which included 2 away games will fancy themselves to keep the goals coming this week.
Adam Lallana - 6587m in Fantrax,
You could say that at his price a little expensive for this post. But as we are looking for value as well as starting price we will throw Lallana in.
The player has being playing very well in recent games and there was an noticeable creative impact when he came on against Newcastle last week. He seems safe to start this week and while facing tough opponents he faces the type of game he suits.
Liverpool have found the deep narrow defences away teams bring to Anfield a problem. WBA will certainly play this way and the reds will need Adam's craft and movement to help break them down.
Jesse Lingard - 3059m in Fantrax, 4.5m in FPL
When you consider the investment Manchester United have made over the last two summers, Lingards place in the first team is a surprise. It is even more when you consider he has done ok but hardly been a star. Having said all of that it probably illustrates the club's problems that Lingard has been their most lively attacking player in recent weeks.
Still Bournemouth's defending offers up chances and back to back clean sheets seems a big ask for them, even against a toothless current Utd attack.
Michail Antonio - 1m in Fantrax, 5.2m in FPL
Antonio's move to West Ham was looking to be a short one with rumours of him being loaned out/sold in January. But then sometimes fortune gives you a break and thanks to a host of injuries the Hammers wide man looks to have a chance of starting the next run of games.
If you haven't seen him play he is a very direct powerful wide man who often shoots rather than passes. It's true that style can frustrate team mates but it's just the way we like our fantasy assets to be. He will likely have a couple of efforts on goal and attempt a few crosses into the box for Carroll to fight for.
Xherdan Shaqiri - 5915m in Fantrax,
Shaqiri has turned into one of those who let's me down when I pick him. But now as he finally has played himself into the form we have seen him show for Switzerland he may get one more chance.
Facing an injury hit West Ham he may just fancy his chances of that first ever Premier League goal.
How about you? Have your early teams got any fillers in them?
