I have a confession to make. My terrible fantasy season finally caught up with me last week on the back of leaving 35+ points on the bench, choosing Alberto Moreno (-4) instead of Leighton Baines (26), and netting a paltry 50 points for the week. It left me swearing off picking a team for the rest of the season, the first time I've ever felt disheartened enough with the game to even think about making such a statement.
Of course, the game and the community here drew me back in and pulled me off the proverbial ledge, but if anything can show just how invested we get as fantasy managers, my sheer frustration this weekend after a season-long slump is it. Like I mentioned, though, I couldn't resist the temptation to tinker with my team ahead of Week 30, and even though I've chalked this season off as a failure, I'll be working on putting together the best team I can for each of the remaining weeks in this Premier League season. For this week, that team looks like this:
Thibaut Courtois
Hector Bellerin, Ryan Bertrand, Aaron Cresswell
Nene, David Silva, Matt Phillips, Nacer Chadli
Olivier Giroud, Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero
For those of you, like me, who have struggled with a subpar fantasy season, hang in there and focus on making the most of what this game is intended to be - a way to have fun. For those of you who have performed well this season, congratulations! While I can't say I know how you feel this time around, know that I'm coming after all of you next season!
For now, though, it's time to focus on finalizing the team you're putting together for Week 30. Head down to the comments to pose any last-minute questions you have, and be sure to chime in with your thoughts on the teams of other managers to help them, too. Best of luck to you all!
