Apologies to our Newcastle fans, but if there's any team that deserves to drop out of the Premier League in my opinion, it has to be the Magpies. Impatient fans, an erratic owner and underperforming players have contributed to their failures so far this season, but the decision to put John Carver in charge following Alan Pardew's move to Crystal Palace has been the death knell for the Geordies.
They may still stay up on the back of the points they put up in the first half of the season, but a loss against the Foxes today will put them firmly in the discussion for relegation--something that was unthinkable when they were just a couple points from safety at the beginning of the year.
I'm also rooting against Newcastle from a fantasy perspective this week, as I've kept hold of Kaspar Schmeichel and Jamie Vardy from last week's double, and will be hoping for big points from them again. Here's my full week 35 squad:
Schmeichel
Bellerin, Okore, Cresswell
Cazorla, Hazard, Gerrard, Ward-Prowse
Giroud, Vardy, Benteke
I wanted to buy in on as many Arsenal players as possible heading into their double in Week 37, but didn't want to miss out on Eden Hazard in Chelsea's potential title-clenching match against Crystal Palace. He'll drop out to welcome Alexis Sanchez into my squad moving forward.
Who did you end up with this week? Do you think Newcastle will fall further into the relegation mire? Will Chelsea clinch the title today? Let's chat!
