Here we are, heading into Week 10 of the MLS season. Many teams will be assessing their current positions in the table as we march progressively towards the mid point. The Western Conference is clearly a hot bed of talent, with many teams now able to mount a solid reproach to most any other side. Case in point, lowly Colorado surprising Dallas for a 4-0 win. Or San Jose defying a red card and holding out to beat Seattle. Needles to say, there will still be a lot of shifting within the standings to come.
We kick off Week 10 with Houston Dynamo v San Jose Earthquakes. Remember that this is another double week featuring San Jose Earthquakes, Real Salt Lake, LA Galaxy, and the Houston Dynamo. I hope you managed to plan your starting 11's accordingly.

Matches to watch out for in Week 10:
Real Salt Lake v LA Galaxy, the first match of two for both sides, will prove to be one of the bigger matches of the week. Both sides have been ever present in the MLS Cup play offs, let alone the final and winning it all, respectively. I imagine RSL will want to make up some ground after a slow start to the new campaign. A win against a Western rival could just be the platform they need to start getting back on form. But LA are the current champs, so this match could go either way and should be an exciting watch.
New York Red Bulls v New York City FC should prove to be a thrilling match in a newly formed derby in the Big Apple. Although this rivalry make take some time to get refined, we can expect both sides to be going for it. With only one win in 9, NYCFC will be desperate to try and put their season on track. If they can manage to take 3 pts off NYRB then that just may be the kick start they need before Frank Lampard finally joins the ranks.
