Week 14 Major League Soccer Live Chat

The early matches in Week 14 were largely frustrating for fantasy managers, with a number of unexpected absences. Let's see what the rest of the week has in store.

With the Wednesday team news revealing Kei Kamara and Bill Hamid were out of the starting lineups for Columbus Crew SC and D.C. United, respectively, both of my candidates for captaincy went flying out the window. In a mad scramble to switch things around, I brought in Cristian Maidana and Fernando Aristeguieta. One of those picks worked to my advantage, but the other was a poor decision, especially when I had tipped the similarly-priced Jack McInerney to do well this week.

Such seems to be life with the MLS Fantasy game, and after a poor 27-point return from 8 players, I'm left hoping the second half of the week will come to my rescue. That begins this evening with a lone Friday night match between Houston Dynamo and New York Red Bulls, with the rest of the Week 14 matches set to follow Saturday and Sunday.

The good news we can take away from this week, if it does wind up being low scoring, is that there will be a round of free transfers to re-structure our teams ahead of Week 15.
