Things haven't started off as well as hoped for last season's top 6 teams. Only Manchester United and Liverpool were able to put three points on the board, and even then neither team looked particularly convincing on the way to 1-0 victories. Chelsea could only manage a draw against a new-look Swansea City attack, while both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur succumbed to defeat without getting on the score sheet.
That leaves Manchester City as the only top 6 team remaining with a chance of impressing on opening weekend. However, we've seen from West Ham United that defensively organized teams can stifle even the best of attacking sides, and with Tony Pulis at the helm for West Bromwich Albion they may be able to continue the Week 1 trend.
The Baggies' chances may hinge on the fitness of Sergio Aguero. The Argentine led all scorers last season with 26 goals, but has only just returned to training after playing for his international side at the Copa America tournament earlier this summer. If he's ready to start, City becomes an entirely different prospect than if they were relying on Wilfried Bony or even Raheem Sterling to lead the line.
What are your predictions for the match? Will the Citizens meet expectations, or will they underwhelm against a stout West Brom side? Let us know who you have left to play in this one, and how you've done for the week!
