Premier League Match Day, Monday Week 2

Can the Reds keep their perfect record and join Man City, Leicester City and Man Utd at the top of the Premier League?

Once again the Premier League has been full of goals and talking points.

Manchester City have shown themselves to be the early season pace setters and it is hard to see them going goalless in any game as long as their frontline stays fit.  Manchester United are level on points but look toothless in attack and badly need to match their city rivals in the transfer window to put up a realistic challenge.  The Champions Chelsea have had a nightmare start to the season on and off the field.  Arsenal are now back under no pressure with the pundits still seeing it as a two horse race.

At the bottom Sunderland look all over the place in defence.  Teams in the EPL don't normally get consecutive hammerings but based on what we have seen they must be very worried of the Swansea City front four Andre Ayew, Jefferson Montero, Siggy and Bafetimbi Gomis next week.

Finally a well done to Claudio Raneri and Leicester City.  The media and some fans were after Claudio after his appointment but so far he has been able to keep the team spirit we saw throughout last season and the form the Foxes ended it with.  Things will get tougher down the line but with the fixtures to come in the opening weeks we could see a surprise side looking to battle City for top spot after the 6 game mark.

The weeks fixtures ends with a David v Goliath clash as Liverpool host AFC Bournemouth.   The home win looks likely on paper and yet you are not quite sure on any result not involving the ultra-impressive Manchester City right now.  Many of you go into tonight hoping Christian Benteke can open his reds account and have supplemented with Phillipe Coutinho and co.  For me, over the mixture of fantasy games the outcome I need most is a Liverpool clean sheet as I hold a 3 of the back four and the keeper.  A Manchester United fan hoping for a Liverpool clean sheet just isn't right is it.
