Thirty-two teams will be divided into eight groups of four to decide which teams will face off in the group stages of Europe's top competition, kicking off in mid-September. Based on league results from the 2014-2015 season, as well as results from the play-off matches that took place over the past couple weeks, the teams have been divided into four "Pots" for the draw.

Each group will comprise one team from each of the pots, to ensure as balanced a draw as possible. Pot 1 features the top qualifying teams from across Europe, leading down to Pot 4 with lower qualifiers from the major leagues and winners of the smaller European leagues. Here's how the pots are set up heading into the draw:

Pot 1

Barcelona, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Benfica, Paris Saint-Germain, Zenit St. Petersburg, PSV Eindhoven

Pot 2

Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, FC Porto, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, Valencia, Bayer Leverkusen

Pot 3

Shakhtar Donetsk, Sevilla, Olympique Lyonnais, Dynamo Kiev, Olympiacos, CSKA Moscow, Galatasaray, AS Roma

Pot 4

BATE Borisov, Borussia Moenchengladbach, Wolfsburg, Dinamo Zagreb, Maccabi Tel Aviv, KAA Gent, Malmo, Astana
