Claudio Ranieri has been earning rave reviews in his first season as Leicester City manager, especially for taking a squad that was nearly relegated under Nigel Pearson and turning them into title contenders with minimal upheaval. Ranieri's summer additions N'Golo Kante and Christian Fuchs have been pivotal to the team's success, but otherwise the Italian has been using pretty much the same side as his predecessor.
Still, the impact of those summer signings shows that the Foxes manager has a keen eye for talent, and he's identified Birmingham City's teenage winger Demarai Gray as another player to bring under his tutelage. While the deal was completed early in the January transfer window, it has gone a bit under the radar since Gray doesn't seem likely to break into the starting lineup ahead of Marc Albrighton and certainly not Riyad Mahrez.
However, Gray's pace and attacking flair have drawn comparisons to fantasy favorites Theo Walcott and Raheem Sterling, so if he can continue to develop under Ranieri he has the potential to be a star in the near future. The 19 year-old has already made his first start for Leicester City in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup, and didn't look out of place, so if there is a time where Mahrez or Albrighton are injured or suspended, Gray should be an able deputy and potential fantasy bargain in their absence.
Here's just a taste of what the £3.7 million signing, who has represented England at each of the youth levels, is capable of:
