After a solid but not great first quarter of my FPL 2016/17 and a poor Fantrax showing I'm looking to kick on as we head into my favourite part of the season. Problem is there seems to be more questions than answers for week 13.
With talk of Kun moving on in the summer, he is now no longer to be a certain starter for a manager that may be the new king of the tinker men. A minor foot issue has now made him a doubt this week for the trip to Burnley. I hold him in both formats but am thinking of selling him in both. He did train yesterday afternoon so is likely able to start and I have previous of dropping Kun and him going goal crazy. Hard call hey.
Alexis Sanchez meanwhile isn't proving the fantasy asset that matches his cost in FPL and also could leave my FPL squad. That nagging hamstring issue won't go away by strapping it up and playing twice a week. He isn't certain to play on Sunday against Bournemouth but with the player himself wanting to play, Theo Walcott both with a poor toe and a wife due to give birth plus the club going through the November flop they often suffer, the Gunners need Alexis. With Bournemouth starting a run of games that look promising for fantasy hauls I'm probably not letting Sanchez go this week, probably!
Liverpool look the bankers of the week and a home win by 2,3 or 4 goals is expected. But while Sunderland's starting 11 looks no match for the reds the Black Cats are in form result wise. I already have Firmino in FPL and am looking to add Coutinho. In Fantrax I want double pool attacking coverage.
Elsewhere Alan Pardews Crystal Palace have the league's worst record in the whole of 2016. The rumour mill has Pardew being fired if he loses today. Meanwhile the Swansea fans have not taken to their new manager but they come into this one in better shape after the point at Everton last week. Many players are picking up Siggy in FPL this week for his nice looking fixtures to come. Today's game looks made for him.
There are always big Saturday morning decisions but week 13 has a few more than normal.
