Gameweek 15 has just ended but there is little time until we start week 16. I love midweek football under the lights. The rush to get home from work, that extra bite in the atmosphere and of course a midweek treat of fantasy football fun.
For a fantasy fan though the midweek round does bring up possible rotation and an extra piece of care needs to be taken to get 11 players on the pitch.
Hugo Lloris
Facing a Hull side who don’t travel well or offer much in attack. It’s 6 games 5 defeats and 1 drawn, Hugo is the premium keeper of choice.
Darren Randolph
Ken will tell you picking 1m keepers is a very risky game. Randolph does face Burnley but it could easy have the 1 shot on goal 1 goal conceded problem. Still if you are short of funds.
Bravo
He has been poor playing behind a defensive that plays as a midfield. Super cheap and surely he gets the win points.
Marcos Alonso/David Luiz
A strong clean sheet chance for both. Alonso against his old club has a nice ring to it and Luiz is due one of those bullet freekicks to go in soon.
The Tottenham defenders
If you can guess who the manager chooses then go with them. Walker, Trippier, Rose and Davies can all play.
If there is no clear choice for the full back position you can bank on then you may prefer to stick to the safer central defender selection. Both are value to return more than their cost in both fantasy games.
Aaron Cresswell
Facing a Burnley side who have scored just once away all season and a side that allow you to come onto them. Cresswell can return a points haul like last season.
Marc Muniesa
Seems like he may start again and having returned an unbelievable 21 and 18 points in his last two he is a great pick, even if you think its points chasing.
Nyom/Chris Brunt
Nyom is cheapest way into the Baggies strong defence while Brunt is a fantastic out of position player in FPL.
Riyad Mahrez
2 goals and 2 assists in 5 and after that dream touch to set up Vardys second against City suggest he is coming into form. B’mouth will leave struggle to deal with him if his mojo is back.
Matt Phillips
While he may lack self-belief he is having the best purple patch of his career with 3 goals and 3 assists in the last 5.
Paul Pogba
Still hasn't been able to stamp his authority on a game yet but is still all action. Its Palace so he will get chances.
Christian Eriksen. Dele Alli, Son
Against Swansea you would have scored decent points whoever you picked, same may apply here. Eriksen is now expensive in Fantrax but as we saw with Swansea can be explosive making him the top pick of the trio. Alli maybe the one due a goal while Son's starting spot is perhaps under the most danger.
Dimitri Payet
Really he is too expensive in both FPL/Fantrax for the points production we have seen in 2016/17 season. But it is Burnley and he would seem likely to have more of the ball that he has done in a number of recent games. If the home fans can back their team rather than moan when the early success doesn't happen they can help the players who look heavy with pressure. Should The Hammer‘s win Payet will be at the heart of it.
KDB, Yaya Toure
KDB facing Watford would have been my no1 midfield pick under normal circumstances but there are two points making me twitchy. First we have City’s form with 2 wins in 6 home games and KDB himself is now 9 without a goal. Second is just how blind I am to some of Peps tactics. KDB found himself in some form of left wing back role for sections of the Leicester defeat. It doesn't play to the players strength or warrant the cost in FF should this positional play continue.
With the City sides struggling and star man Kun missing I think Pep may give Yaya a run out against Watford. His price is great but the trade off is he offers little fantasy points bar his goals and I suppose Pep may continue benching him.
One of the two seem likely to hold pen duty.
Eden Hazard
In flying form and Sunderland really do not have the weapons to deal with him. A must in FPL and an expensive almost must in Fantrax. His price is a problem for me but those of you holding at 15 or even 10m (looking at you Gavin) must be very happy.
Ryan Fraser
Fraser was a star in the win over Liverpool and got a further 81 minutes under his belt against Burnley. I think he starts again and while the Foxes beat City in headline fashion they still gave up two goals. Left back Fuchs is much better going forward and will find livewire Fraser a handful going the other way. Great price in Fantrax.
Marko Arnautovic/Charlie Adam
I will keep tipping that Marko goal and with him likely to play up front should Walters be ruled out again it must be coming soon.
Adam is a troll for me this season, scoring the points when I don’t have him and fouling all in sight when I do. Great price, on pens and will start.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
With the games coming thick and fast you would think a guy in his mid thirties would get a rest. Thing is this is no ordinary guy, he is ZLATAN. Certain to start in my view and facing Palace who are all over the place at the back.
Christian Benteke
While his side are lacking confidence big Ben is on fire. 4 goals and 1 assist in his last 3 and holding pen duty. Utd don’t look like they have an away clean sheet in them to me at this moment and Tekkers is most likely for Palace.
Alexis Sanchez
5 goals and 2 assists in his last 4 Sanchez is the league’s main man. Everton have looked horrible recently and Arsenal have looked better on the road.
Salomon Rondon
Simply Swansea will not provide back to back clean sheets and Rondon will bully the flaky Swans central defenders. Unlikely to provide huge points but he can score at least a goal.
Ben Afobe
He got the vote to start at Burnley and returned a goal while playing the full 90 minutes. A great price for a sneaky gamble.
Harry Kane
Must have for the next two game weeks. Burnley have conceded 15 goals in 6 away games.
Diego Costa
Still not received his 5th yellow card and for me clear player of the 1st half of the season. Just the forward in form Sunderland do not want to face. Too expensive for me in Fantrax and my big regret in FPL.
