The biggest day of Leicester City's history is now upon us. Just three points separate them from an unimaginable title run that ill see them crowned champions at Old Trafford should they win out right. There are other ways for Claudio Raineri's men to complete the impossible though. With a 7pt lead and only 3 matches remaining, as long as Chelsea defeat their London rivals, Spurs, then any result, even a loss, will hand Leicester the title. But as you can imagine, the Foxes will be looking to wrap this up on their own terms.
United, alternatively, are still very much fighting for Champions League qualification. With West Ham recording a dominating performance against West Brom, the pressure is on Van Gaal not to let his United slip up against the presumptive champions. A task easier said than done as anything but 3pts leaves the door open for the Hammer's to potentially leap frog United come seasons end. Despite a loss to Spurs, United have been on a good run of form and find themselves in the FA Cup final. All to play for then come kick off.
Manchester City will need to be careful not to be too distracted by their CL semi-final second leg against Real Madrid. The 'noisy neighbors' from Manchester travel to Southampton and must win to keep United and West Ham at bay. Southampton are no push overs however, and will surely be up for this match with Europa League qualification still on the cards. Pellegrini will most likely give Sergio Aguero a start and hope the match progresses much like the win at Stoke, subbing the Argentine off after a good first half performance. Either way, City must manage their assets properly to navigate a tricky end to the season as well as continuing their own "Leicester" fairytale run in the Champions League.
Our final match will have a few potential outcomes. First, if Leicester City wrap up the title at Old Trafford, then the mood around the Spurs camp will surely take a hit. Chelsea have had a shocking season, but the ease at which they brushed aside Bournemouth suggests they may finish the season on a high. Probably for the best considering a new manager always means players will have to show their skills or risk being shuttled to the sidelines. Eden Hazard reminded us of why he was chosen as the PFA Player of the Year last season with two goals in the 4-1 rout. Leading to Chelsea looking a lot more attractive with their week 37 double on the horizon.
Either way it goes, Chelsea will feel this was a season to forget, where Spurs and Pochettino can hold their heads high. With Champions League football secured for next season and likely to finish above bitter rivals Arsenal, the North London club have enjoyed monumental success this season. Harry Kane is also on course to take the golden boot, becoming just the 5th Englishman to score 20+ goals in back to back. Needless to say, given their squad is so full of youth and potential, Tottenham will be title contenders for some seasons to come. Not a bad position to find yourself in at all.
