The quarter final's are done and into the semi finals we head. Both semifinals are so tough to call
Wales v Portugal
Germany v France
Wales have had a fantastic tournament so far and have shown the values of teamwork and a tactical plan. Portugal have dug themselves through the competition without ever really looking great. Most of all it's the Real Madrid shootout Gareth Bale v Cristiano Ronaldo that has the potential to be the story of the Euro 2016 competition so far.
World Champions Germany are the team to beat and will face a France team who will be underdogs for the first time in the competition. On neutral soil I would fancy the Germans would be too strong and too experienced but with the emotional home support behind them we may see the French overcome the odds.
My side is looking light on options. From the squad that went into the last 8 I have the following players missing and requiring replacement.
Kevin De Bruyne
Then the problems really start. Samuel Umtiti is unlikely to start with the return of Rami, while Aaron Ramsey is suspended. Then I have Guerriero who is an injury worry. That Belgium defeat really has caused my squad problems. Also with the two semifinals looking evenly balanced I cannot really load up on one side with a view to having a stronger final side than many other players.
The main advantage we do have is the team news for the Wales/Portugal game being known before we click confirm on our transfers. I could take a stab at predicting the winner of that game and loading up accordingly but then again I fancy the winner of the competition will come from the second semifinal.
How is your squad looking?
