Aston Villa have accepted a 6m bid from Middlesbrough for forward Rudy Gestede.
He scored 9 in 49 at Villa after 32 in 66 games at Blackburn Rovers. Gestede style wise is similar but lesser in quality than 1st choice Negredo. This smacks of cover with back up proven goalscorer Jordan Rhodes perhaps moving on.
If he does Rhodes has 6 goals in 18 for Boro after 82 in 159 at Blackburn Rovers in the Championship. He may suit someone like Hull or maybe even a strike partner for Jermain Defoe at Sunderland. Certainly he seems like he would enjoy the supply Robert Snodgrass could provide and would be the more interesting fantasy development should it happen.
What do you think, would either do well given a EPL 1st team run and would either be a tempting 3rd forward in your fantasy sides?
