GW 10 Player Picks: Togga PXI

Welcome to the double digits as we bid farewell to statistical small sample size!

After a slow start to my Togga PXI season, I’m starting to round into shape. Last week my 4-4-2 team scored 141, which was good enough for 55th place in our NMA PXI private league -- the same slot I occupy in the overall season standings. Congratulations are in order to our GW9 NMA league winner Bunnyslope, who scored an impressive 187.50.

GW10 Picks

G Nick Pope, Burnley

I’ve already touted the divinity of the Young Pope. A Monday game against Newcastle United is a tasty match-up.

Swansea’s Lukasz Fabianski versus Arsenal is a very good alternative as the Gunners will pepper the Swans’ net with shots. Yes, Arsenal will score, but Fabianski will also be a saves magnet.

D Virgil van Dijk, Southampton; Cesar Azpilicueta, Chelsea; Nicolas Otamendi, ManCity. Nacho Monreal, Arsenal

A fairly conservative defensive quartet, but all have attractive match-ups against suspect offenses (Brighton, Bournemouth, West Brom and Swansea respectively). In my opinion, these four represent the best Togga defenders on their respective teams.

Other sensible options include Leicester City’s Harry Maguire versus Everton and West Ham’s Pablo Zabaleta versus Crystal Palace.

M Eden Hazard, Chelsea; Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City; Christian Eriksen, Tottenham; Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool

Again, not the most adventurous of player picks. KDB has been on fire and Eriksen is an undisputed PXI pick for me week in and week out. Coutinho should be very involved in the offense versus Huddersfield Town and Eden Hazard is the definition of a ticking time bomb.

Watford surprise package Abdoulaye Doucoure plays defensive strugglers Stoke and is also an attractive pick, as is Newcastle’s Matt Ritchie against Burnley.

F Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal and Harry Kane, Tottenham

Citizen Kane clearly needs no introduction. The movie is widely regarded as one of the best of all-time, and the player should be regarded as one of the best strikers in world futbol. Alexis, petulant though he may be, is listed as a forward on Togga and is one of the very best point magnets in the game.

I’m upset I couldn’t find room for either Sergio Aguero or Gabriel Jesus in my team given Togga PXI’s strict 4-4-2 formation requirement, but with both surprisingly starting midweek in the Carabao Cup (Kun played 120’ plus penalty shootout!!!!), the threat of rotation or severely curtailed minutes is too much risk.

As always I wish you the best of luck and I hope you have fun in GW10! Be sure to join our Togga PXI private league if you haven’t already. Just download the free Togga app and look for the PXI game in your mobile device. The NMA league is also free to join!
