It’s a holiday weekend, a festive and busy time for most. Let’s hope you didn’t leave everything for the last minute friends, so now you can settle in for the big clash tonight at the Emirates. We’re not into 2018 just yet, so I don’t want to over-hype this game, but I believe that Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea will secure three of the top four spots. That means today’s pair are vying for the final place in the Champions League next season.
Arsenal have scored three goals in their previous four Premier League games. Arsene Wenger will hopefully send out a team that can match Liverpool’s firepower. Alexis Sanchez looks far removed from the player that terrorized defenses last season, with one foot out the door, I don’t know how much longer Wenger and fantasy managers can depend on him. Today I’ll be paying close attention to which team decides to take the initiative and which plays on the counter attack. As the home team, it’s very possible Arsenal do the former.
Unlike their London opponents, Liverpool have scored ten goals in their previous four games. Fantasy managers are heavily invested in the likes of Mo Salah, Philippe Coutinho, and Roberto Firmino. Only the brave will have defenders in this one. Juergen Klopp will have fantasy investors nervously awaiting the team sheet today, because he has recently chosen to rotate. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will also be hoping for minutes against his former team, and after receiving the Man of the Match award in the last game, his confidence will be high.
Do you believe the managers will show any caution today because they are rivals for a top four place? Or will they be true to form and play attacking football? How many Gunners and Reds do you have in your lineup? Grab your favorite festive beverage and let’s chat!
