We still do not know what Arsene Wenger, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will be doing in the summer but that hasn’t stopped their current club starting their summer transfer plans early.
Arsenal have provisionally agreed to sign Schalke left back Sead Kolasinac. The 23 year old arrives as a free agent and is a forward thinking attacking full back. He could adapt the left wing back role that Wenger has deployed pretty successfully in recent weeks, which could make the futures of Kiaren Gibbs or Nacho Monreal under threat.
Wenger advised;
“We have a very big squad at the moment that is already difficult enough to manage,” he said. “A bigger squad is impossible. If we finish outside the top four, it will maybe be down to one point. One point would be difficult to swallow but that should not as well change the judgment on the quality of the team to a way where you think you have absolutely to change everything.
"It will mean just keep the same focus to try to strengthen the squad. We know where it has to be and that’s what the club will have to do.
“We lacked defensive stability in some important games this season, and we had to completely rethink the system. I had to make some changes and now we look more stable at the moment.
“To buy doesn’t necessarily mean success. There is a shortage of top level players. There are some big teams in Europe who have big players but they do not need to sell them. You look and we are certainly the richest league in Europe, but there are still some top level players who play in other leagues. There is more money available than good players.
ArsenalVideosHD have a nice little welcome to Arsenal video showing some of the best moment in his career so far.
Meanwhile a quick check on www.whoscored.com tells us he has played 24 times in the Bundesliga this season. In that run Kolasinac has 3 goals and 5 assists (making him joint top assist maker for the side) and rank Schalkes defender with the most tackles per game.
At such a young age he has plenty of room to develop and improve. Depending on his starting price and starting status when you consider the attacking intent of all Wenger sides he will be an early temptation in you draft squad for the opening day 2017/18.
So fantasy fans do you like what you see? Arsenal fans is this a signing you like?
