The long wait is over fantasy football fans: The Premier League is back! The 2017/18 season opens with recently underachieving Arsenal against the Premier League’s biggest ever overachievers Leicester City. There have been 13 title winners since the Gunners last became Premier League champions, but this season presents them with a potentially big tactical advantage of no Champions League football. Rivals Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham and likely Liverpool will have to manage their squads to suit the biggest club competition there is while Arsenal will not. When you consider the last two Premier League winners had no Champions League football and were able to select their strongest 11 every week, then Arsene Wenger may never have a better chance to win it once again.

There will be no Alexis Sanchez but Mesut Ozil trained and is expected to start. Club record signing Alexander Lacazette will start, as will the other summer signing: Sead “The Tank” Kolasinac. The Foxes may have new signing Kelechi Iheanacho playing, but Riyad Mahrez may find himself on the bench. Arsenal have won all 10 prior League matches when hosting Leicester, and they start warm favourites again today.

As for our fantasy teams, there are NMA managers out there holding Lacazette, and I think the Goalfather planned to have the FPL captain’s armband on him. Good luck Miko.
