Week two offered either a chance to improve on a down week one or an opportunity to slip from a strong start. It’s all about riding the ups and downs, so let’s clap the backs of the teams who went skyward this time around.
Along with its 4-0 victory at Swansea City, Manchester United provided plenty of points from Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly, but Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso was the big fantasy scorer thanks to his vital brace in the 2-1 win at Spurs. If you had most or all of them in your teams, you were loving life.
Official Premier League Fantasy
In Official’s Beat the Bloggers league, Melev FC came literally out of nowhere (joining following GW1, that is) to win the second week with a grand tally of 94 points. The manager used the bench boost, which turned out very nicely as West Ham United poacher Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez provided 13 of the 21 extra points. That’s a fine way to catch up after a delayed start! Including captain Romelu Lukaku and the aforementioned Little Pea, Melev FC boasted four double digit scorers, with Alonso and Pogba chipping in.
David De Gea was the third Red Devil on the squad, pitching in six points thanks to a second successive clean sheet. Whereas the three Manchester United stars combined for 33 points (again, including the captain’s armband), Melev FC’s trio of Tottenham Hotspur players — Toby Alderweireld, Dele Alli and Mousa Dembele — disappointed by totaling only four points between them. Melev FC certainly loves the big name teams, as 12 out of the 15 man roster come from Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Manchester United and Spurs.

The opening week’s champion Sajat FC remained in first place overall (168 points) with a dandy 67 point haul for GW2, followed by Furry Balls, ArRoW, ADESUPER FC and princess pennys to round out the top five. ArRoW enjoyed an impressive 88 point week entirely from the starting 11.
Fantrax Fantasy
Utilizing the classic 3-4-3 formation, Team Sky_the_Reds notched an impressive 131 points to take the top spot for GW2, and that was despite a zero from the benched Trent Alexander-Arnold in a game featuring a clean sheet at Anfield for the home side. Much of the joy came from the budget-priced Huddersfield Town trio in the Terriers’ victory over Newcastle, with keeper Jonas Lössl, defender Christopher Schindler and midfielder Aaron Mooy combining for a whopping 59 points themselves. High-cost contributors Lukaku and Liverpool’s Sadio Mane earned their keep as each netted a goal, while mid-priced Henrikh Mkhitaryan of the Red Devils more than returned value by providing a pair of assists.
