Gameweek 24 rounds off with a fixture pair that very likely has your FPL captain playing.
In the first of the Boxing Day rematches, Southampton hosts Tottenham. The Wembley meeting ended 5-2 to Spurs, Harry Kane blitzing Saints with a hat trick.
Southampton will have been taught some tough lessons by fluid Spurs. They will likely decide to change tactics and apply the deeper defense / surrender possession and territory approach that has seen Spurs struggle at times this season.
It’s no win in 10 games for the Saints. Spurs won this fixture last season 4-1 at St Mary’s, Dele Alli scoring a brace, Son and Kane each scoring once, and Virgil van Dijk replying for Southampton.
Dele Alli is coming into form and has 4 in his last 3 against Southampton. With Kane, Alli and Son in such goal scoring form, St Mary’s faithful may find it a hard watch.

We then finish Monday evening with Swansea hosting Liverpool. It ended 5-0 to pool on Boxing Day with Mo Salah providing 2 assists and Firmino 2 goals. Both players will be in many a fantasy team this week.
Liverpools unbeaten run has stretched to 14 games, and they have scored at least 2 goals in each of their last 6 away games. Forward Roberto Firmino has 4 goals in his last 3 fixtures against Swansea, and he is in his best form at the club.
Liverpool won 2-1 in this fixture last season, Firmino and Milner scoring for the Reds, Fer with the Swansea goal.
The obvious thought is a couple of dominant away wins and plenty of fantasy points for the Tottenham / Liverpool players, but sometimes football isn’t that straightforward.
Enjoy the games, and let’s chat.
