After another long international break, the UEFA Champions League is back with a bang for Matchday 5. Fasten your seatbelts, because you could be in for a wild ride.

With Group Stage survival and qualification on the line for a number of teams, the stakes are enormous. Only Barcelona have so far tied up progression to the Knockout Phase, meaning that there is work to be done across the remainder of the groups.

There are 3 games that look particularly mouthwatering in this round.

Tottenham welcome Inter Milan to Wembley in a veritable Group B grudge match. Spurs were cruising in their opening match before being undone by 2 late goals (including a Mauro Icardi stunner). This sparked a capitulation in Spurs’ UCL fortunes meaning that nothing less than a win will suffice here. Harry Kane vs Mauro Icardi is a heavyweight matchup to watch.

Elsewhere in the “Group of Death”, Paris St. Germain welcome Liverpool to the Parc Des Princes in an eagerly anticipated tie. PSG are sweating international-break injuries suffered by their two superstars, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. Liverpool meanwhile come into this game in imperious form and will be looking for an away result before their last group match against Napoli. The opening group game between these two teams was an enthralling match, so I’m expecting much of the same tomorrow.

Finally, AS Roma tackle Real Madrid in an unpredictable game for control of Group G. Los Blancos have a good Champions League record in Rome, but their indifferent form is a major concern for new coach Santiago Solari. The Romans meanwhile are unbeaten in 7 consecutive home matches and will be full of confidence going into this tie. This is yet another match that could go either way and promises excitement and drama.

Find a TV, grab a beer, and enjoy the show.

Football... Beautiful football!
