How Did You Do in Week 26?

Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed Salah went big, but plenty of other stars were MIA as several surprise scorers gave nice returns. How did your fantasy teams fare?

Arsenal v Everton - Premier League
If Aaron Ramsey has a hat trick but fantasy managers win the week without him, is he really just jumping for joy alone in a forest?

Manchester City managed only one goal against Burnley, and it was scored by Danilo rather than Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling or any of the usual suspects. (Making matters worse for Sterling owners, he missed what would be called “a sitter.”) Bournemouth got two goals, but Callum Wilson missed out on the fun. Stoke’s mini-maestro Xherdan Shaqiri scored... a header, of all things!

Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez both tickled the twine in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield, but the latter followed a missed penalty kick, and Phil Jones unexpectedly missed out on the clean sheet via injury. Aaron Ramsey notched a hattrick, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored on his debut (one of several goals around the league that could/should have been called offside), and Henrikh Mkhitaryan chipped in with three assists in Arsenal’s big win... but Mesut Ozil had nothing to show for all the Gunners’ pyrotechnics. Everton managed a consolation goal, but Theo Walcott and Wayne Rooney blanked.

Let’s just say this was a weekend where points were out there, but not for everybody. Unfortunately, I was in that latter camp. The less said the better. As Bill Belichick is want to murmur, “We’re on to Cincinnati.” Of course, for the Patriots it will be quite a long wait for the next game, unlike the rest of us. For those who were able to find joy, which fantasy managers came out on top in the NMA Official and Fantrax leagues?

NMA OFFICIAL FANTASY LEAGUE

Congratulations to Sepit Biru Fan Club who conquered the FPL competition with an impressive tally of 89 points (93 less a four point penalty for making two transfers). Amazingly, it came without Aaron Ramsey! But the captain choice of Mo Salah proved wise, and on top of that, SBFC enjoyed 13-point performances each from Mkhit and Pascal Gross. Meanwhile, Hegazi, Sharqiri, and Vardy each netted a goal, and David de Gea contributed a clean sheet. The midfield was definitely the driver, accounting for 67 points!!!
