After the highs and lows of the Saturday fixtures, we head into a trio of games that round off game week 30.
*
Arsenal v Watford
This game would normally be one of those where you expect the home side to win, and win with some comfort. Up until Thursday evening, the Gunners had been in perhaps the worst spell of Arsene Wengers management. Not only disappointing results, but the general performances have been far from good enough, and that wasn't down to just the manager.
Fast forward to Thursday, and from nowhere Arsenal traveled to AC Milan and record a fantastic 2-0 away win. There was nothing coming into the week that suggested an away win to nil was likely to happen, but that shows us just how unpredictable the Gunners are. Perhaps Darth Wenger found new ways to motivate them.
Watford meanwhile have won back-to-back games, keeping clean sheets in both. Troy Deeney has had much to say about the Arsenal side, which will bring added spice and perhaps a goal, a red card or both.
*
Bournemouth v Tottenham
Spurs took a punch in the belly midweek, Juventus smashing and grabbing a CL victory and advance at Wembley. Harry Kane & Co will be looking to bounce back strongly.
The Cherries are rivaling Arsenal for inconsistency, having produced a wonderful 3-0 win at Chelsea but getting smashed to pieces in a 4-1 loss at Huddersfield. They do tend to raise their game against the big boys, so this should be a good watch.
*
Stoke v Manchester City
City are a level or two above the pack this season, and they have already beaten Stoke with ease once.
Stoke will be a little more stubborn this week, but it’s hard to see any thing other than an away win.
*
So how did you do on Saturday? Whom do you have going in these remaining matches? Do any barn-door candidates stand out for consideration?
Enjoy the games, and let’s chat!
