Preparation for gw-24 has become more challenging than usual for fantasy managers. On the horizon, we suddenly have a double game-week in front of us. While we must approach the present week with thoughts not too far from the future, let’s look at some important questions for the upcoming deadline.

Can the North London teams recover?

Arsenal and Tottenham both lost in the FA Cup this past weekend. For Unai Emery and Mauricio Pochettino, it was probably the best chance either had for silverware this season. Now both managers must refocus their teams on the league campaign again. Injuries are a problem for both teams, but hopefully home comforts can get them each the three points on offer.

Will Everton and Manchester City alter your plans?

With a double game week to come, Will you be investing in assets from these two a week early? Are you planning to use the free hit chip or wildcard? To be successful in fantasy football, these are the areas that separate the best from the rest. How you prepare not just for this week but for what comes next is going to be a big factor in your final position. Away games are on deck for both teams, they are winnable though, which makes it a comfortable decision to start placing Everton and City players on your squad.

Note: After appearing on the weekend, Mendy had swelling in his knee; stay tuned.

Gonzalo or no?

Sheffield Wednesday is not a great team, but the signs were encouraging for those thinking of bringing Gonzalo Higuain into their teams. AFC Bournemouth is this week’s target, an attractive match-up for the Argentine to make his league debut because the Cherries have conceded the fourth most goals this season. Playing alongside Eden Hazard and the other talents at Chelsea should be productive. They’re much higher level of quality than at AC Milan, so they should bring out Higuain’s full potential.
