It’s Champions League Final Day, and the excitement in Madrid is at fever pitch as Liverpool and Tottenham battle for Europe’s biggest prize.

It has not been an easy road for either team, as they both found themselves staring directly at elimination only to launch unforgettable comebacks to seal their places in the Final.

Liverpool overturned an improbable 3-0 semifinal 1st leg deficit to annihilate the favorites Barcelona in front of their home fans at Anfield to win 4-0.

Spurs found themselves 3-0 down on aggregate in the semifinal 2nd leg away to Ajax but then delivered a 2nd half that will live long in the memory of Spurs fans — Lucas Moura scoring the winning goal with virtually the last kick of the game.

Those results give us an all-English UCL Final at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

For Tottenham, the big news is that captain Harry Kane has declared himself fit for the final after a month long layoff with an ankle injury. Manager Maurico Pocchetino will have a selection headache deciding whether to include the talisman from the start or keep faith with the team that prevailed in his absence.

Liverpool also welcome back their injured striker Roberto Firmino who is fit to lead the line. Naby Keita will miss out with an injury, but the Liverpool lineup should be the settled unit that has had an unforgettable season.

The final today will give Jurgen Klopp a chance to lift the elusive trophy with the big ears, having missed out twice before. It will also give Mauricio Pocchetino his first chance at European glory.
